A weekly deep-conditioning treatment to maintain a head of shiny, healthy, fizz-free hair. Ingredients 1 tsp jojoba oil 5 drops rosemary essential oil Instructions Warm the jojoba oil for 10-15secs in a microwave. Be careful not to overheat the oil as it will lose all beneficial properties. Add rosemary essential oil and blend well. Dampen hair with warm water and gently massage the oil blend into your scalp for as long as you like. Then wrap your hair in a hot towel and leave on for 30mins. Shampoo and rinse with cold water. Here's a simple affordable shampoo recipe you can use at home. Although you may add the following oils to your regular shampoo, it is recommended to use a mild, natural shampoo base. Ingredients 100ml unscented shampoo base 15 drops jojoba oil 8 drops grapeseed oil 7 drops lavender EO 7 drops rosemary EO 2 drops tea tree EO Instructions Drop by drop, add carrier and essential oils into shampoo base, mixing slowly to avoid bubbles forming. Use as your regular shampoo. Follow up with a nightly alopecia scalp treatment.
A stimulating shampoo for healthy shiny hair. Follow up with conditioner, as natural-based shampoos do tend to feel dry after washing out. Suitable for normal to oily hair. Ingredients 100ml unscented shampoo base 7 drops lemon eo 6 drops thyme eo 4 drops rosemary eo 3 drops lavender eo Instructions Slowly add essential oils to the shampoo base drop by drop, mixing it slowly to prevent bubbles from forming. Blend thoroughly (you have to be patient with this). Mixture will appear cloudy but that will clear up in a day or so.
Use this conditioner on any hair type to strengthen. Ingredients 100ml unscented conditioner base 5 drops rosemary eo 7 drops geranium eo 8 drops lavender eo Instructions Slowly add essential oils to the conditioner base drop by drop, mixing it thoroughly.

Ingredients - Dark hair 3 drops rosemary eo 1 drop geranium eo Ingredients - Fair hair 2 drops chamomile eo 1 drop lemon eo Instructions Add essential oils for your hair type to 4 cups of warm water. Shake it up well in a glass bottle and pour over clean hair as a final rinse.

This wonderfully simple recipe is quick and easy to create and contains no alcohol or harmful polymers. Ingredients 100ml distilled water 2-4g xanthum gum (Bob’s Red Mill all-natural xanthum gum is available at Cold Storage supermarkets) 10 drops of essential oil (optional) Instructions Heat water to 40°C, and sprinkle in xanthum gum a little at a time, whisking quickly as you go. The more gum added, the thicker the consistency. Add in your essential oils. After cooling, push gel through a cotton filter (the kind old-school coffeeshops use is perfect for this) to get a smoother texture. Store in a clean container.
This recipe doesn’t hold hair as firmly as the gel, but it holds stray strands in place well enough. Ingredients 2 cups distilled water 1 whole lemon 40g sugar Instructions Bring water to boil in a saucepot. Chop up the unpeeled lemon and throw into boiling water. Add sugar, stir and simmer till mixture is reduced in half. When cooled, strain, filter then pour the mixture into a spray bottle for dispensing. A useful aromatic dry hair shampoo, useful for when you’re unable to wash your hair for some reason. Ingredients 2 tbsp cornflour 5 drops essential oil Try this blend for a tingling zing! 3 drops peppermint eo 1 drop pine needle eo 1 drop tea tree eo Instructions Combine all ingredients in a blender to mix thoroughly. A natural, floral shampoo that lathers gently. Great for sensitive skin. Castille soap tends to leave a slight residue, follow up with a vinegar rinse and conditioner. Ingredients 1/3 cup hydrosol or herbal infusion » herbs for your hair type 50ml liquid castille soap 5ml glycerine (available at Phoon Huat & Co. ) 10 drops essential oil Instructions Heat castille soap, infusion and glycerin over low heat till uniform viscosity is reached. Once it’s cooled, add in your essential oils and store in a clean, dry bottle. A warm vinegar rinse can be made up with 1 cup apple cider vinegar and 3 cups hot water.
A moisturising hair mask, use once a week. Ingredients 1/2 peeled avocado, ripe 1 egg (yolk only) 1 tsp jojoba oil Instructions Process egg in blender until frothy. Add in peeled avocado and jojoba oil, blending until smooth. Use immediately. Using a comb, apply paste to hair section by section and cover with shower cap for 30 minutes. Read a magazine. Beer contains proteins that coat the hair shaft, building up body and helping damage repair. Ingredients 60ml unscented shampoo base 40ml beer (any cheapo brand) Instructions Bring beer to a boil in a saucepot. Remove from heat and add in shampoo base, stirring in gently to avoid foaming. Ready to use once cooled.
This hot oil treatment will leave your hair conditioned, shiny and radiant. Ingredients 2 tsp jojoba oil 1 tsp grapeseed oil 8 drops lavender eo 8 drops rosemary eo Instructions Mix all ingredients and blend well. Store in a glass bottle, this can keep for up to 6 months. To use, place bottle in hot water to warm up. Then massage 1 tbsp of oil into hair and cover for 30 minutes. Follow up with shampoo and conditioner.
