Isn't it great to have your feet all soft, sloughed out and smelling like strawberries? A fun and easy project to indulge in during an idle weekend. Ingredients 8 strawberries 2 tbsp apricot kernel oil 1 tsp salt 1 tsp finely chopped almonds (or other nut varieties) Instructions With a fork, mash strawberries into a paste making sure not to overdo it as it can liquify too much. Mix in carrier oil, followed by salt and nuts. The mixture can be kept in the refrigerator for a week. To use, rub over feet then rinse off and dry. Moisturize with Hand and Heel Saver right before bed.
To soothe tired feet, detoxify and induce relaxation before bedtime. Ingredients 3 litres hot water 1/2 cup dead sea bath salt 1/2 cup epsom bath salt 5 drops grapefruit EO 5 drops lemon EO 5 drops bergamot EO Instructions Prepare hot water in a footbath tub, making sure the temperature is right for you. A refreshing, antiseptic and deodorising foot spray for anytime of the day. Ingredients 3/4 cup distilled water 1 tsp glycerine 20 drops peppermint eo 25 drops thyme eo 30 drops tea tree eo Instructions Combine water and glycerine. Add essential oils and shake it up well before each use.
Treat your feet to this softening and fragrant scrub. Soak your feet before to soften skin and apply the scrub to exfoliate. Ingredients 2 tbsp coursely-ground sugar 2 tbsp kaolin clay 1-1/2 tbsp water or hydrosol 1 tbsp honey (can substitute with glycerin for vegan-friendly recipe) 1 tsp sweet almond oil 25 drops lemon eo 10 drops pine eo Instructions 1. Mix the sugar and salt thoroughly with the kaolin. 2. Drizzle in the sweet almond oil and honey slowly and mix thoroughly. 3. Add water bit by bit and blend till desired consistency is reached. 4. Add in essential oils and mix thoroughly. 5. Store in a clean, airtight container if not using immediately. * Citrus oils can cause photo-sensitivity and should be avoided before sun exposure.
This balm is especially good for dry cracked heels. Ingredients 300ml water 2 tbsp sago or tapioca flour 25ml apricot kernel oil 25ml avocado oil 4 drops rose eo 4 drops tea tree eo 4 drops roman chamomile eo Instructions Heat water over stove and sprinkle in flour to thicken. A whisk will be very handy at this point. Boil for approximately 20 minutes, and let cool. Strain through a cotton filter to get a smooth consistency. This warming foot massage oil can be used on sore muscles as well. Ingredients 2 tsp soya bean oil 5 drops rosemary eo 2 drops peppermint eo 2 drops eucalyptus eo 1 drop ginger eo Instructions Combine all oils in a dark glass bottle and mix well. To use, massage gently into feet.
A soothing foot bath with oats to soften your skin and peppermint and thyme to relax aching muscles. The antiseptic and antifungal properties make it great for athlete's foot. Ingredients 1 bunch fresh thyme 1/2 cup oats 10 drops peppermint eo Instructions Chop up a handful of fresh thyme and place in a muslin bag with the oats. Put the bag in a small tub of warm water and add the peppermint essential oil. Soak feet and kick back to good music.
If for some reason you can’t go to the beach, we’ll take the beach to you with this exfoliating foot scrub. Ingredients 1/2 cup epsom bath salt 1 tbsp liquid castille soap 1 tsp grapeseed oil 2 tsp fine beach sand 1 drop essential oil Instructions Combine dry ingredients in a clean bowl and mix well. In a separate bowl, combine wet ingredients and mix well. Pour liquid mixture into the salt mixture and stir well to blend. Finally add your essential oil.
